Chichester Music Society – Bursary Scheme
The Chichester Music Society, which holds regular concerts in the University of Chichester chapel, has developed a most enjoyable and mutually rewarding relationship with the University.
The Robert Headley Fund was created to help students who are preparing for the start of their musical careers. So far the Fund has awarded over £90,000 as bursaries and prizes for graduate students of Chichester University to help finance their post-graduate studies. In 2017 CMS received a generous legacy from the estate of John and Benea Speir, and CMS's intention is to use this primarily to fund further bursaries.
To qualify for such awards, students must be on target to successfully complete their UoC BA Music Course and have applied for or been awarded a place on a post-graduate degree course in music performance at a recognised Conservatoire (including the University of Chichester Conservatoire).
Applications should normally be made by 30th April for courses starting in the autumn of that year.
Your application should include:
Applications for an award should be made to CMS University Liaison Committee Member, Professor Laura Ritchie [email protected] with a copy to CMS Chairman [email protected]
Successful applicants will be expected to perform at a future CMS benefit concert to raise funds towards further bursaries, on an expenses only basis.
